A “crippled” and deaf miniature horse went from baby steps to gallops in just 12 days with special braces for his legs, according to his caregiver in Bonsall, California.

Faith San Severino has been documenting tiny Peabody’s heartwarming story on the Faithful Friends Mini Horses TikTok account.

Peabody was born deaf and with malformed legs, and San Severino adopted him when he was four days old. San Severino told Storyful the horse was nearly “put down” because he was “crippled.”

Although the mini horse requires special shoes to help him walk, as seen in the video, he was galloping by day 12 of his rehabilitation.

Despite his struggles, the video shows Peabody has plenty of spunk. He even drinks out of the family dogs’ water dish because he prefers it to his own.
