Officials in Sarasota, Florida, said a driver was cited after they mounted a sidewalk to avoid rush-hour traffic on the morning of Wednesday, June 22.

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said a person emailed them dashcam footage showing a Sedan mount a sidewalk on Tuesday morning, and told officers that this was a regular occurrence on Fruitville Road.

The sheriff’s office said deputies were sent to observe the scene on Wednesday morning, and at around 7am, they saw the same dark Sedan pull onto the sidewalk. The driver, after noticing the police presence, returned to the road, and was issued a citation.
