The theme for the 2023 Yahoo Finance Invest Asia was Beyond Borders: Collaborating for Financial Excellence. Innolux Chairman and CEO Jim Hung (<a data-i13n="cpos:1;pos:1" href="https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/3481.TW?p=3481.TW&.tsrc=fin-srch">3481.TW</a>) spoke with Yahoo Finance Executive Editor <a data-i13n="cpos:2;pos:1" href="https://www.yahoo.com/author/brian-sozzi/">Brian Sozzi</a> to discuss technology trends and demand, locally and globally.
Hung points out that LCD panels are becoming more energy efficient and are better at signal transmission, saying the most important focus is what is “behind the screen." Hung describes how these panels are not just for televisions anymore, especially given how technology is being incorporated into our everyday lives, noting that "it's become a human's machine interface, so that's given a new value to the panel."
Regarding AI, Hung believes that the process of production will be “much more” efficient and notes a “significant impact for the value chain.” Hung believes that with AI's help, the TV could become "a hub" for home operations—streamlining the overall productivity in the home.

A woman was gifted a "one-of-a-kind" necklace by her boyfriend - made from his BLOOD.

Daniela Manzano, 27, saw a video about a 'bloodsmith' - a jewellery maker who creates pendants and jewels out of human blood.

Due to having "a bit of a gothic aesthetic", Daniela loved the idea - and sent the video to her boyfriend, Nicholas Van Schoor, 24.

Nicholas took the hint and went to the Oddities and Curiosities Expo which happened to be in his area, to have his blood drawn.

It was then mixed with resin before it was made into a necklace, and shipped back to Nicholas weeks later for Daniela's birthday on November 14.

It cost $250 for a necklace made out of a small vial of blood drawn from Nich's right arm.

Daniela, who lives in New York City, US, adored the gift - because she and Nicholas are in a long-distance relationship, with him five hours away in Salt Lake City, Utah, US. 

She said wearing it is like having a "piece of him" with her at all times - literally.

Daniela said: "I sent a video of it to Nich, not thinking anything of it.

"He looked into it and by chance, the 'bloodsmith' would be in his city that weekend - it seemed like fate.

"When I finally got it for my birthday, I was so excited - it's beautiful, the camera doesn't even do it justice.

"Blood makes some people feel queazy or they find it gross, but it's sentimental to me - because we're long distance, I get to have a piece of Nich with me.

"He wants one with my blood now but it's not happening - I faint when I get a flu shot."

After sharing the sentimental gift on social media, many people were inspired and wanted to do a similar thing with their own significant others.

Others accused Daniela of being a "devil worshipper" - and even said she would use Nicholas' blood to do "blood magic" and "hex his family".

But she still says it's her "favourite piece of jewellery" and doesn't let the bizarre accusations ruin it for her.

She said: "It got a mixed reaction - lots of people said they wanted one of their partner's blood.

"But some said I was doing devil worship or voodoo.

"I had one person accusing me of influencing young girls to hex their boyfriends with blood magic.

"Someone said I was going to hex his entire blood line - which I had no intention to do.

"I'm desensitised to it now - it's still my favourite piece of jewellery."

Nicholas said: "My initial reaction is that it was really cool - I wanted to give her a different gift.

"Needles and blood don't bother me at all so I was willing to do it.

"When I gave her the necklace after months of waiting for them to make it, it was great.

"Dani was ecstatic, her face lit up.

"We've seen lots of the comments online but we don't take it to heart - we find it funny.

"In fact it's incentivised us to go out and get more blood jewellery!"

今次我們抽中驗樓的單位，位於5座低層A室，單位實用面積532呎，兩房開則。入屋大門旁是梗廚，放置L形廚櫃後，其中一幅牆身安裝了大型窗戶，以致犧牲加裝吊櫃的位置。不過驗樓師賴達明發現，原來廚房窗外設有冷氣機平台，該窗戶除可作通風及採光用之外，面積亦足夠讓工人通過維修冷氣機，故有得亦有失。較可惜的是，既然單位附設梗廚，屋苑亦有煤氣供應，不明白為何發展商仍只安裝電磁爐而非煤氣煮食爐。

從廚房走出來，經過小玄關就是客飯廳，客飯廳長逾5米，闊2.65米，對於一個532呎的兩房單位而言，空間略嫌較一般新盤細。不過住戶可從客飯廳連接的露台玻璃門近望昂船洲海景，算是全屋最大亮點。然而，驗樓師檢查後發現，單位露台及工作平台圍欄及金屬面上有較多花痕，需要發展商執修。

整體感覺而言，最能體驗豪宅氣派的在於洗手間，裝修用上大範圍雲石與金色飾面，都是較貴價的建材，驗樓師亦認為企缸安裝得宜，浴屏門的夾口做得貼，而且門檻有斜度，可引導洗澡水流回企缸內。

單位兩間睡房的面積亦不算大，客房及主人房面積分別為50呎及73呎，對於532呎的單位而言不算突出，主因在於主人房旁邊的厚牆身，都蠶食了部分實用面積。

至於驗樓結果，明哥發現要執修的地方不多，主要在露台及工作平台的圍欄以及其鋁冚，部份牆身則因收水而出現裂紋，其餘都屬於小瑕疵，最終單位總分95分，評級為A。我們把驗樓結果轉交發展商之一的信和，回覆指，執修項目全為輕微瑕疵，已於遞交執修清單後，委託承建商進行修繕工程。

最重要是租值能否追得上樓價，入伙初期，「維港滙」租務成交都算活躍，開放式單位月租14,800元、一房單位16,500元左右，而類近驗樓單位的兩房梗廚戶型，最近出現一宗25,000元的租務成交，以業主購入價1,300多萬元計算，扣除管理費前，回報約2.3厘，是否吸引則要自己衡量了。
