Security video captured a home being targeted amid a troubling uptick of  “dinnertime burglaries” across San Fernando Valley communities. A Granada Hills home on Wood Ranch Road was targeted Wednesday night where thieves escaped with around $150,000 worth of valuables.

Several cases were recently reported where intruders broke into homes between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. — a time when people are believed to be out to dinner. The homeowner said he received a motion alert on his phone from a baby monitor showing four armed thieves breaking into his house and ransacking the interior.

The City of Lodi’s 28th annual Parade of Lights lit up the downtown streets with hundreds of spectators watching in wonder.  Churches, schools and small businesses decorated floats in spectacular holiday lights as they drove down the streets of downtown Lodi Thursday night. Performance groups, such as local marching bands and dance teams, also participated in the parade. Lodi Mayor Mikey Hothi said the number of people involved in the 2023 parade was incredible and one of the biggest in the event’s history.

在《施政報告》公布後第五日，房屋局公布本港最新私樓供應量，最新數字達107,000個單位，重返今年第一季的紀錄新高，以全港一手吸納量計算，過去五年平均每年吸納15,975個單位，數字相當於全港6.7年吸納量，明顯是供過於求，都直接抵銷《施政報告》的減辣措施，政府寄望減辣帶動成交，推動發展商積極投地以確保庫房收益，似乎未必容易做得到。

107,000伙一手供應，裡面也分中短期供應，當中有20,000伙只批出動工紙，但發展商未真正動工的單位，都未必可在短時間內推出市場。就算我們把相關數字剔除，而只計算可即時推出市場的「樓花貨尾」及「現樓貨尾」，這裡也有86,300個單位，數字上也是紀錄新高。

一手市場供過於求，即使放寬額外印花稅，令高追蟹貨買家得以鬆綁，實際上也需要跟一手樓同步競爭。買二手樓有即買即住優勢，但一手現樓貨尾達18,300伙，只要發展商打價格戰，就算「額外印花稅」令高追蟹貨盤提前解禁，但並不代表業主在買賣過程中能佔上風，反而隨時要大幅度劈價，才得以保持競爭力，樓價只愈跌愈有。

特別是今日購買力已大不如前，否則政府不會把「買家印花稅」及「新住宅印花稅」稅率減半。只是當一手貨尾連同蟹貨盤一起釋放，境外客及換樓客的選擇大增，心態上自然更加揀擇。如果因市場劈價盤湧現，令樓價愈跌愈心寒，大家信心便會盡失，準買家取態可能會更審慎，同樣不利刺激成交。

因為仍保持足夠購買力的人，他們會否買樓，「信心」兩個字大於一切，但不利樓市信心的消息似乎未完全消除。外圍經濟不明朗，銀行持續加息，《施政報告》後銀行把估價進一步收緊、負資產大增，都難以令買家輕易對後市重拾信心。更重要一點，縱然供應層面貼近歷史高位，但《施政報告》卻看不到政府有意減慢造地，所釋出的訊息就是土地供應陸續有來。

因此，政府今次選擇減辣，而非撤辣，表面上說要取個「平衡」，但實際上卻令本已因辣招而扭曲的樓市，在半桶水鬆綁的情況下，會衍生出不同情景，加上影響樓市不利消息未消除，後市走勢更不知去向。原本打算政策傾斜發展商去貨，若發展商能去貨，自然有資金再投地，政府庫房可有保障，但如意算盤卻未必打得響。

政府最新公布財政狀況，繼續入不敷支。今財年首五個月，全港整體開支3,006億元，但卻只有1,178億元收入。就算扣除政府因發行綠債而進帳466億元，但財政赤字仍高達1,362億元。當然還有大半年追趕失地，前提就要視乎大市氣氛會否回穩、發展商會否積極投地，否則龐大的巨額赤字，終究要由辛苦儲蓄的財政儲備埋單。

今個財年開首，財政儲備有8,173億元，但現時已跌穿七字關口至6,986億元。這跟2018年度累積的11,709億元儲備、相當於26.4個月的政府開支相比，回首一看，原來幾年間已蒸發40%、相當於4,723億元，相當誇張。
