Lightning Strike Suspected to be Behind Large Fire at Family Home in Sydney

A family home was destroyed by a fire in north-west Sydney on Wednesday, September 27, which was believed to have started by a lightning strike, according to local media.

Emergency crews were called to the property on Cattai Ridge Road in Glenorie at 7.30pm, with reports the home was well alight.

The New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) told Storyful 86 firefighters and 21 fire trucks worked through the night to extinguish the blaze.

No-one was injured and there was no threat to surrounding properties, a spokesperson said.
