Funnel Cloud Forms as EF-2 Tornado Hits Southern Ontario

A tornado that brought winds of up to 210 km/h (130 mph) caused extensive damage in Barrie, Ontario, on July 15.

Eleven people were hospitalized in the city of Barrie following the storm, and around 9,000 residents and businesses were left without power, local media reported.

Environment Canada confirmed that a tornado with a preliminary rating of EF-2 touched down in the southern part of the city on Thursday afternoon.
