Vanita Gupta, the former principal deputy assistant attorney general and acting head of the Dept. of Justice Civil Rights Division under President Obama, spoke to Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric about the rollback of Obama-era guidance on sentencing by AG Sessions. She called it “a resounding step backwards into the 1980s of failed policies in our criminal justice system.”
