Prosecutors in Oakland County, Michigan, announced involuntary manslaughter charges against the parents of alleged Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley on December 3.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, prosecutor Karen McDonald said that James and Jennifer Crumbley would each face four charges of involuntary manslaughter. McDonald said that Crumbley telegraphed his intentions and was able to access a firearm purchased by his father days before the shooting on Tuesday that left four students dead.

“Justice for the victims and their families is at the forefront of today’s announcement,” said McDonald. “We need to do better in this country. We need to say enough is enough, for our kids, our teachers, parents, for all of us in this community and the communities across this nation.” Credit: Office of Oakland County Prosecutor via Storyful
