Homes Feared Lost as Bushfires Flare on New South Wales South Coast

Homes were feared lost on the New South Wales South Coast as bushfires fanned by strong winds burned towards the sea on January 23.

One blaze spread to the area of Potato Point in the hot conditions, prompting an emergency warning to be issued to locals by the New South Wales Rural Fire Service.

Further north, the Clyde Mountain fire also intensified, prompting an emergency warning for residents in and around Moruya. There were reports up to 10 homes had been lost in the area.
