Hues of red, yellow, and gold popped up in the hollows of Kentucky’s Daniel Boone National Forest, much to the joy of leaf peepers looking to catch a glimpse of the multicolored landscape.

Drone footage taken above Angel Hollow by Johnnie Nicholson shows fall colors sprinkled among the green, as mist rises. He said he flew his drone over the valley in Laurel County on October 21.

Trees in Kentucky usually begin changing colors as early as September in higher elevations, and “gradually progress to the west during October and into early November,” according to the state’s tourism website. Credit: Johnnie Nicholson via Storyful
