Protesters clashed with riot police on the streets on Barcelona October 17-18 in the fourth night of violence following the lengthy sentences given to the leaders of the 2017 Catalan independence movement.

Catalan separatists lit fires in the streets and threw bottles and other objects at riot police with protestors reportedly using an anonymous group called Tsunami Democràtic using a bespoke app to organize the disturbances.

BBC News reported that at least ninety-six people had suffered injuries as a result of the violence.
