The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup for the National Hockey League’s (NHL) 2019-2020 season on September 28, sending fans into fits of celebration outside the team’s home ground in Florida.

The coronavirus pandemic forced the season to be postponed indefinitely in March with games not returning until June. Finals games were played in the Canadian cities of Edmonton and Toronto without fans in the stadiums.

Fans watched their team take out the win at an outdoor event near Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay. The victory sparked scenes of jubilation when the Lightning won the sixth game of the finals series 2-0.
