The last “supermoon” of the summer, also known as the Sturgeon Moon, illuminated the sky over Alicante, Spain, as it reached its peak overnight from August 11 to 12.

This spectacular footage comes from photographer Octavio Alonso, who said he captured the lunar event using a Nikon P900 camera with a 2,000-millimeter zoom.

NASA said the moon would appear full for about three days, from Wednesday morning to Saturday morning. Credit: Octavio Alonso via Storyful
