While the core of SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket crashed on attempting to land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship on June 25, the rocket’s side boosters touched down successfully at Cape Canaveral.

David Litz captured the moment the boosters lit up the night sky as they made their way back to ground, after a launch Elon Musk had predicted to be SpaceX’s most difficult to date.

The STP-2 mission carried two dozen satellites into orbit for NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a Department of Defense test program, and a number of universities. The rocket lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 2:30 am. Credit: David Litz via Storyful
