Police in New South Wales are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying some disappointed thieves, who stole 29 smart watches in two incidents. The watches, however, were only display models, and of “very limited” functionality, police said.

According to police, three suspects stole 12 smart watches from a retail store in Charleston, New South Wales, on September 18. A similar incident occurred when 17 watches were stolen from a retail store in a Hornsby shopping center on October 2.

The suspects were white males estimated to be aged between 15 and 20, police said.

Police warned members of the public to exercise caution and ask for a proof of purchase before proceeding with any transaction involving smart watches. Credit: New South Wales Police Force via Storyful
