A red-tailed boa constrictor was “taken into custody” after police said they responded to a complaint in Cape Coral, Florida, on June 23.Body cam footage from the Cape Coral Police Department shows the non-venomous snake slithering across an intersection near a residential neighborhood. The video shows a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) employee capturing the snake in a pillowcase to transport it.Quoting a FWC spokeswoman, local media said the eight-foot-long snake was “very sick or injured” and died while being transported. Boa constrictors are not native to Florida, but illegally releasing pet snakes has introduced them to the area, according to the University of Florida. Once again disgusting humans imposing themselves on nature. This world will be so much better once they die off.
