Residents in the Tampa Bay area shuttered windows and secured boats as Hurricane Ian approached the Florida Peninsula on September 27.

Hillsborough County officials urged residents under evacuation orders to relocate on Tuesday night. Footage captured by Sarah Sell shows residents in Apollo Beach preparing for the storm.

The National Hurricane Center warned Ian could bring life-threatening storm surges, catastrophic winds and flooding to the Florida peninsula.
