At least one person was killed in a heavy and sudden snowstorm in central and southeastern France on November 14, according to reports.

Meteo France, the nation’s meteorological service, reported that the heaviest snowfall hit Le Gua in Isère with 50 centimeters (about 19.7 inches), and the Abbey of Mazan in Ardèche with 42 centimeters (about 16.5 inches).

Videos filmed by Valence resident Guy Tenneroni on November 14 and 15 show homes and roadways covered in snow in the southeastern French city and the suburb of Malissard, where Meteo France said between 10 and 15 centimeters (about four to six inches) of snow fell.
