Lebanese Protesters Take Streets of Sour City Over New Taxes

Nation wide protests continued across Lebanon for the second day on October 18 against proposed economic reform that would introduce new taxes on goods and services such as tobacco and calls made via WhatsApp.

Local media reported that Lebanese police fired tear gas at protesters near government headquarters in central Beirut.
