King Charles III addressed French lawmakers in Paris on Thursday, September 21, on the second day of his first state visit to the country since becoming the UK’s monarch.

Yael Braun-Pivet, president of the National Assembly, and Gerard Larcher, president of the Senate, also spoke during the session.

The king delivered his speech mostly in French, praising both countries’ commitment to freedom and democracy, and speaking of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s role in the positive relationship between France and the UK.
