Protesters with the Yellow Vest movement took to the streets of Rouen, France, on Saturday, February 9, chanting and facing off with police in their thirteenth consecutive weekend of mobilization.

Video posted to Twitter shows hundreds of demonstrators in yellow vests marching through the streets and chanting as part of the movement’s “Acte 13,” a weekly protest against the fiscal policies of President Emmanuel Macron. In the footage, demonstrators face off with police carrying riot shields and, at several points, sit on the ground and refuse to move. Saturday’s protests came as part of a nationwide mobilization in which Yellow Vests marched through Paris, Lyon, and other French cities.

Despite the fervor of protesters, many parts of life in Rouen continued as usual. In one of the clips embedded here, a guitarist performs on the street as marchers move past. Credit: William Lacaille via Storyful
