An explosion at a home in the Bronx triggered a large fire, leaving at least one person dead and eight others injured, including five police officers suffering smoke inhalation, according to local officials.

A blast was reported before 11 am at 869 Fox Street in the Longview neighborhood of the Bronx. This footage, released by the NYPD, shows officers working to rescue a woman pinned under a couch in a house next door. The 68-year-old woman was in a serious condition, authorities reported after being rescued.
