Long Lines Persist on Fourth Day of Early Voting in New York City

New Yorkers reported waiting in line for hours to cast ballots after early voting began on October 24.

This footage, shared by Uri Finzi, shows people lined up to vote at Lincoln Center in Manhattan around noontime on Tuesday, October 27, the fourth day early voting was available for New Yorkers.

According to the New York City Board of Elections (BOE), 314,723 ballots were cast in the five boroughs on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

The BOE announced it would extend early voting hours from 7 am to 5 pm on October 30 and 31, and 7 am to 4 pm on November 1. The change came after Mayor Bill de Blasio called on the board to “step up” and introduce immediate measures to alleviate long wait times. Credit: Uri Finzi via Storyful
