The Los Angeles Fire Department ordered mandatory evacuations in Sylmar, California, on October 11, as strong winds pushed the Saddleridge brush fire close to homes and businesses.

Winds gusted up to 60 mph, helping spread the fire, according to reports. This video shows the fire as wind pushed it close to a fire truck.

The LAFD reported the fire had grown 7,500 acres and was at 13 percent containment as of 5 pm local time on October 11.

Several other wildfires were burning in California, including the 4,905-acre Briceburg Fire, the 4,600-acre Sandalwood Fire and the 91-acre Wendy Fire.
