Aerial footage posted to Facebook on October 14 showed lava from the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma engulfing a football pitch.

The lava had flowed across more than 886 hectares (about 3.3 square miles) as of October 21, according to Copernicus Emergency Management Service. Over 2,100 building had been destroyed by the activity, the report added.
