Artificial intelligence is having a major impact on how companies prepare for the future - but one CEO says it ultimately depends on how it's being used.

'What are people going to ask the A.I. to do?', Pinterest (PINS) CEO Bill Ready tells Yahoo Finance at this week's 'Shoptalk' event in Las Vegas. 'Are they asking it to do things that are positive and helpful, things that are additive?'

Ready is hoping the answer is yes. 'We're making sure it's additive to people's lives, not addictive.' The Pinterest CEO explains how it will benefit Pinterest users, adding, 'In a lot of ways, [A.I.] was becoming more and more addictive, connecting you to things that make you engage for longer but may not make you feel better...we're really focused on how we lead to most positive well-being outcomes.'
