A child assisted in wrangling a large alligator from the middle of an expressway in Jacksonville, Florida, on Monday, April 1.

Henry Coleman III recorded this footage showing a man and child working to tape the large reptile’s mouth shut.

In Coleman’s full livestream, the alligator can be seen making its way under a police vehicle before the trapper manages to grab it with a catch pole. Once the animal is on grass, the trapper hands the pole to a child standing near a police car. The pair are eventually able to tape the animal up and place it in the trunk of a car.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), a Florida program known as the Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program (SNAP), works to proactively address alligator threats in developed areas while conserving alligators in areas where they naturally reside. SNAP uses contracted alligator trappers throughout the state to remove nuisance alligators.
